"3 Women: Life's Work in Motion" @ University Business Center

Artist: Ann Hagler
Trying to build a better cat - acrylic painting on canvas and hardboard. While Ann has a history of working in various mediums, she is now exploring paint, using a series of cats as the main subject. The cat is a versatile, challenging and uncomplaining model to work with. She is both envious and intrigued by their flexibility and ability to contort into different forms, creating an endless supply of material to work with.

Artist: Claire Putney
Exploring the relationship between the human experience and topographical landscapes in mixed media. Together, they form an intriguing geography that gives evidence to one's physical and emotional relationship with a place, the histories that are created there, and describes how those histories can resurface through time. Maps, charts, and diagrams are combined with current and historic imagery to create artworks where human experience and geographic location are layered within the composition.

Artist: Stacy Rosevear
Sharing her personal journey she conveys emotion, using thick layers of oil paint, carved, on wood. Carving back layers to reveal true emotions, we see and share a part of the human experience. Oil paint became a medium to sculpt, to carve into, when frustration about perceived personal shortcomings arose. These compositions are the beginning of a larger body of work, which will take over a year to complete, as a long drying time is required before carving may start.
