"Representational Art - Just a Fad?" @ University Business Center

Representational art has been the backbone of art expression throughout human history.  From Cave Art to Contemporary Art, artists begin making their art to express  their deepest emotions by understanding the human figure or the landscape or other objects in their environment.  Most artists are always moving toward or away from representational art because it's in their DNA.   These artist in our show are expressing this tradition of representational art.

Featured artists: Fong Baatz, Louise Britton, Keven Furiya, Shannon Kringren, Jim Kurihara & Kelly Lyles

Artist's Reception: 6pm - 9pm

Laura Cameron @ Chaco Canyon

"Celtic Art has fascinated me since high school, when I picked up a how-to book on Celtic art at the Scottish Highland Games. I still have that book, Celtic Art, Methods of Construction by George Bain, and have recently used it (and other source materials) to teach one of my pupils how to create knotwork and spirals, as well as a small demo instructional for the PNW Clan Cameron Heritage Society. I consider myself still a student myself in this complex and challenging art form. It is still popular today, and for good reason: It’s a beautiful puzzle! The Celts were a fascinating people, and their art still resonates on down through the millennia." ~ Laura Cameron
