Emile Pitre @ Lucid Gallery "Campus Walker" Emile Pitre’s breathtaking images have been a hidden treasure, and this exhibit debuts his work within the public sector. His brilliant photography captures the small moments and splendors that can be easily missed rushing through the UW Seattle campus from day to day. This collection reflects glimpses of spring renewal through delicacy of nature and beauty and the appreciation for the details in life. His work includes a wide spectrum of photos from the contrast of colors and textures in nature, to flowers bathing in what is left of the morning dew, to birds in flight. Dean Summers will be showing "Mosaic Skulls." Death is given new and sparkling life with these animal skulls encrusted in a dazzling mosaic of semi-precious stones and minerals. California Dreamin featuring the art of Jesse Thompson with raffle items provided by the fine folks at Thrasher Magazine and Converse Skateboard. ![]() Heather Rosenberry @ University Business Center Heather Rosenberry is a fine artist living in Seattle, Washington. Born in 1972 in Sandpoint, Idaho to a family of artists and musicians, she went on to obtain a BFA with emphasis in Painting/Drawing from OTIS College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, California in 1995. Her work has been shown throughout California and the Northwest, most recently in group shows at the Freemont Abbey Arts Center, Seattle, WA; Collective Visions Gallery, Bremerton, WA; Spokane club, Spokane, WA; and Portland City Hall, Portland, OR. She works primarily in the mediums of oil on canvas and chalk pastel on paper. Utilizing a representational style, she is ever fascinated by detail, addressing the triumph and folly of human existence by depicting ambiguous, visual "soundbytes" that invite the viewer to infer their own inner dialogue. Natural Isreal @ Boulevard Grocery The cartoons of Natural Isreal! Also featuring music by the Roosevelt High School Jazz Band Boulevard Grocery is continuing its coffee bag project, a collaboration between Boulevard Grocery and local artists. Each 1-pound bag sells for $21 with a cut going to the artist, the store, and a charity. |
